How does the Abortion Pill work?

  • The Abortion Pill is a set of two medications (Mifepristone & Misoprostol) that, when taken in succession, will aid in the termination of an early pregnancy. Mifepristone blocks progesterone from the developing pregnancy, causing the pregnancy to stop progressing. Misoprostol causes uterine contractions which will then expel the no longer developing pregnancy.
