How does the abortion pill work?

  • The Abortion Pill is typically a set of two medications (Mifepristone & Misoprostol) that, when taken in succession, will aid in the termination of an early pregnancy. Mifepristone blocks progesterone from the developing pregnancy, causing the pregnancy to stop progressing. Misoprostol causes uterine contractions which will then expel the no longer developing pregnancy.

How much does the abortion pill cost?

  • The Abortion Pill cost varies but general estimates are between $300-$800. The cost is depended on the clinic and your insurance coverage.

Where can I get the abortion pill?

  • In order to be able to prescribe the abortion pill, a clinic must typically be able to accurately date a pregnancy, confirm that the pregnancy is located properly, and provide emergency services in case complications occur. Before moving forward with the abortion pill, it’s important to do your research.

What do I need to do before taking the abortion pill?
