Winter weather has arrived in full force once again! The temperature in my own Chicagoland neighborhood is a bleak one-degree Fahrenheit right now, with wind chills in the negative twenties. Meanwhile, this arctic blast is sweeping the rest of the Midwest and the East Coast, even as the deep South experiences rare extreme cold and freeze warnings (National Weather Service). Worst by far, wildfires driven by high winds are continuing to rage across southern California as I write this blog.
Maybe these harsh weather conditions that our country is facing almost seem to fit your mood today. Maybe you’re feeling shocked, panicked, and angry after discovering that you’re unexpectedly pregnant. Know that this sense of chaos and confusion is only temporary. It’s possible to find your own best path through this storm (however unlikely that may seem), and you don’t have to navigate this journey on your own.
