Taking Stock of Your Situation

Sometimes when faced with a lot of chaos in our life, that becomes all we can see or focus on. And when we find ourselves in this place it can be easy to be consumed with negative thoughts or worries. It can be helpful to take a step back and take stock of your current situation, your resources, and the support you have available to you. Sometimes processing all of this with somebody else can be beneficial and they may be able to offer you a different perspective. You may find that things aren’t as bad as they seem, or realize that you have a lot of strength and ability to get through difficult circumstances!

Making Choices Responsibly

No matter what path you decide on for your pregnancy, there are challenges ahead. It’s recommended you do thorough research about your options before deciding. Choosing abortion means figuring out which abortion procedure is correct for you, taking appropriate time off of work, recovery, and any after-care you might need. Parenting and adoption have their own difficulties as well. With any of your options, it’s beneficial to know what you’re getting into before you leap.

Starting Small

If you’re doubting your ability to take care of yourself, you’re not the only one who has felt this way before. It’s important to remember that everybody needs to ask for help sometimes, and that is okay. It’s also important to grow your confidence in yourself by starting with small tasks. If you struggle with making and keeping doctor’s appointments, start with something smaller like a haircut appointment. If you struggle with getting enough sleep, plan to give yourself twenty minutes of rest somewhere in your day. Whatever it is you’re having trouble with, going forward one small step is a success and can help you become more confident in your abilities.

Trying to take care of yourself, your responsibilities, and, now, facing an unexpected pregnancy can be stressful. At Avenue, we want to make your path easier.
