Remember a Time You Were Strong
In moments of crisis or chaos, it can be easy to forget the past. Positive memories or attributes seem to fly out the window. As you grapple with your news, it can be beneficial to take a step back and rewind. Think about another time in your life when you faced something unexpected or difficult. How did you respond? Did you learn something or grow from that experience? Is there strength you can draw from that time? Can you respond to this situation even better than the last time you faced a difficult circumstance?
Create a Positive Attributes List
One way to kickstart embracing your strengths during unexpected pregnancy is to make a list of your positive traits. Think about what makes you strong, what you’ve overcome, and what you like about yourself. These are all things you can add to your list to remind yourself that you can do this.
Reach Out For Help
Being strong doesn’t mean doing everything by yourself. Sometimes just asking for help, finding support, and gathering resources are the best things you can do during this time. It is strong to ask for assistance. A place like Avenue Women’s Center is a great place to find the help you need!
