We’d love to meet with you right away.
One day, I’m driving around singing along with the music blasting in my car when all of a sudden I catch a glimpse of a road sign. My plan was to be driving on 290 W when the sign I just whizzed by said 290E. “No way,” I thought to myself; I couldn’t have been driving for the last 30 minutes going in the opposite direction! I turn on my GPS (which I thought I didn’t need as I started out on my trip) and quickly realized my fears were true.
I was going the opposite direction. I would need to make an adjustment, and looked for the opportunity to turn around. As I turned and started back for the first time that day in the right direction, I realized how easy it is to get off track. Apparently, as I was singing my heart out, enjoying the moment, I managed to take the wrong ramp heading in the opposite direction.
Life is like that too. We may be going around thinking we are on the right path when all of a sudden a red flag hits us smack in the face. Maybe it’s getting a “F” on a test because we were too busy to study or receiving a bad medical report at the doctor’s office. For my daughter, her red flag was the one that showed a little blue line on a pregnancy test, confirming that she was indeed pregnant.
These red flags are meant to get our attention just as road signs do when driving. Are you going in the right direction? If not It may be time for a “You-turn.” Unfortunately, the “You-turns” in life can be complicated and can take a bit more time than a U-turn in a vehicle. The important thing to realize is, you don’t have to make the change alone.
