Are you unexpectedly pregnant and leaning towards having an abortion? Perhaps, for any number of reasons, you feel unable or reluctant to continue the pregnancy. Your Unique Perspective
The thoughts and feelings behind your outlook on abortion may be complex and unique. You may be drawn to some methods more than others. Perhaps taking the abortion pill feels less invasive, like an everyday routine, or you appreciate the privacy that this allows. On the other hand, some may prefer a surgical abortion that offers more medical supervision. You have a one-of-a-kind viewpoint that is shaped by your personality, experiences, and many other factors. Having an honest conversation about your opinions on abortion or other pregnancy options may feel nerve-wracking. This subject is a controversial one, and views expressed in the media or in private discussions are not always kind and respectful. However, if you’re considering abortion, you may find it helpful to process your feelings around this with a caring, trustworthy individual before taking your next steps.

Learn About Your Pregnancy
Avenue Women’s Center offers free, limited medical ultrasounds to assess the health of your pregnancy and how far along you are. This is vital to know as soon as possible. Some early pregnancy risks like ectopic pregnancy (which occurs when the fertilized egg is located outside the uterus) require immediate medical attention. If an ultrasound determines that a pregnancy is likely to end in miscarriage, an abortion may not be needed. And if you do choose to move forward with an abortion, it will be important to know how far the pregnancy has progressed. The more you know about your pregnancy, the more insight you’ll have in your decision-making process.
At Avenue, we know that every woman has a unique story and set of beliefs, so our team customizes services to your individual situation. We respect your point of view and are here to help you move forward with courage and confidence. All services are completely confidential and free of charge!
