Early Pregnancy Services Designed to Empower
Whether you’re a very young, moderately young, or middle-aged woman, positive and practical steps can be taken to equip yourself for a pregnancy decision that’s free of regret. Here’s how we help women achieve this at Avenue Women’s Center!
Free early pregnancy services:
Avenue provides lab-quality pregnancy tests and limited medical ultrasounds at no cost! We believe reliable information leads to well-informed pregnancy decisions, which lead to more positive outcomes. An ultrasound can provide a lot of useful information about a woman’s pregnancy, like 1) how far along it’s developed (which may impact her pregnancy options), 2) if miscarriage is a likely result, and 3) where the pregnancy is located. If it’s outside the uterus, that’s called an ectopic pregnancy. This condition is a serious one that requires immediate medical attention. So, getting a scan is a great way to help protect your own health and wellness.
Pregnancy consultations:
After getting a positive pregnancy result, many women feel scared and overwhelmed. Young women may face their own set of challenges like lack of finances, peer pressure, family pressure, and educational complications. Of course, there are always exceptions to this! But no matter how you’re processing your pregnancy news, Avenue Women’s Center provides a safe, confidential space to express how you’re feeling and figure out your next steps alongside a caring advocate. Pregnancy consultations give you the opportunity to ask questions, learn about all your pregnancy options, and identify available resources. Our pregnancy consultants are here to listen. It’s our role to equip you with reliable information and emotional support, no matter where your journey leads.
Ongoing support:
One element that makes Avenue unique is our commitment to following you throughout your pregnancy journey. After you leave your appointment, your pregnancy consultant will continue to check in and offer support as long as you’d like. And, no matter what pregnancy decision you make, we’re available to help you access the resources you need.
Understanding Legal Factors
It’s important to note that age-related and other regulations around pregnancy options (like abortion) differ significantly from state to state. If you live in the United States, you’ve probably noticed that abortion access has become an especially complex and controversial matter in recent months. Checking your own state’s guidelines is recommended to better understand the legal aspects of this pregnancy decision.
As stressful as your circumstances may be, this unexpected pregnancy could be an important part in shaping you into the woman you’re meant to become. That may sound a bit cliché. But it’s true! Our expert staff at Avenue is here for you, no matter what you’re facing today. It’s our hope that you’ll look back on this experience and think to yourself, “That was really hard, but I’m okay with the choices I made,” or even, “I wouldn’t change that part of my past if I could.”
