Practical Pregnancy Steps
Regardless of your decision, it’s always a good idea to confirm your pregnancy if you haven’t already done so. A doctor’s office or clinic like Avenue Women’s Center is a great first step! Here we can confirm your pregnancy with our free medical-grade pregnancy tests which are accurate just ten days after possible conception.
Once you’ve confirmed your pregnancy, a great next step is to schedule an ultrasound exam. An ultrasound can give you information about your options that you might not have known you needed. If you’ve decided on abortion, for example, an ultrasound exam can tell you which abortion method you’d be eligible for or if your pregnancy will naturally end in miscarriage.
Considering Your Sources
Even though you’ve made up your mind, it can be a helpful and beneficial exercise to take a step back and consider what those close to you are saying. Sometimes those close to us know us really well and know how we might take something. Or they could see how strong we are and be able to face something we don’t think we can. If your closest family members, friends, or partner are saying something different than you, it may be worth digging into a little bit. Even just listening to them does not in any way mean you need to change your mind. But listening can show them that you understand how your situation impacts them as well. Hearing them out now shows that you care and could serve to strengthen your relationship going forward.
At Avenue we know at the end of the day, this decision is yours alone. We want to be here for you as you grapple with other opinions and figure out how to move forward. We care about your privacy and health, so our limited medical services are always confidential and free. Our consultants would love to offer you our services and a helping hand.
