Do Not Feel Pressured to Make a Quick Decision

I’ve struggled with anxiety throughout most of my life, and it can be quite scary when it takes a hold of you. When power is given to our anxiety, it can feel like a balloon inside of us that is about to burst. Your heart may begin racing as your breaths become shorter, your body twitching with nerves. But perhaps what I struggle with the most in the midst of anxiety is this sudden feeling that I must make every life decision for myself within the span of a few seconds, not taking the time to weigh all of my options as I award my nerves free reign over me.

The same feelings arise when you’re faced with an unexpected pregnancy. The fears you have about what you will do and the choice you should make may leave you with the feeling that you must make a decision now, and quickly. But in these moments of stress, it is important to remember that an informed decision is hard to make when made too soon. You will want to be clear about all of your options and the help that is available to you.
