You’re nearing the end of your unexpected pregnancy, and with only a few weeks remaining, you may want to make sure you have a plan. While some women may decide parenting is the right option for them, you may still be undecided, or perhaps you’ve changed your mind. The thought of parenting may make you feel anxious, but you’re not sure what else you can do at this point in the pregnancy. It’s important to know it’s never too late to reach out for support during an unexpected pregnancy, and there are still resources available that can help you decide how to move forward.
Are you nine months pregnant and wondering about your pregnancy options? Operating from six different locations throughout the Chicagoland area, Avenue Women’s Center is here to offer support during an unexpected pregnancy. You may want to meet with a trusted counselor or pregnancy consultant to help with your decision. If you find yourself contemplating parenting, a pregnancy consultant can help connect you to local community resources to provide on-going support, and help you determine if raising a child is your next best step. In addition to parenting, you do have another option. While it may be too late for abortion, adoption is still available.
Calling an agency to create a unique adoption plan is an option at any point in the pregnancy. The agency may provide you with counseling and financial assistance, and an adoption specialist can walk you through the process of choosing your child’s adoptive parents. Every woman deserves to feel comfortable during delivery, and the agency may even assist with creating a hospital plan. If you choose to move forward with the adoption process after speaking with a pregnancy consultant, then an adoption specialist can continue to work on a comfortable adoption plan with you that meets your needs.
Understandably, reaching the end of what has likely been an emotional journey can be a bit exhausting. Know that it’s never too late to reach out for help during an unexpected pregnancy, and there is still a chance to formulate a pregnancy plan that’s right for you. This may feel like a difficult time in your life, but you deserve to know that supportive resources exist to guide you through an unexpected pregnancy at any stage.
